BEST BET
Bill Gargiulo from Angelins Fishing Pier reports loads of bait and quite a few Spanish mackerel, snappers, bluerunners plus a few snook and permit, and on the Juno Beach Park Pier, anglers are catching mackerel, ladyfish, snappers, bluerunners and a few snook.
MIAMI-DADE/BROWARD
Rick Thomas of the Thomas Flyer Charter boat out of Bayside Marina reported very good dolphin action this past weekend from 300 to 1,000 feet of water. Fishing in North Biscayne Bay, Edward McCarthy caught and released dozens of sea trout, mangrove snapper, bluerunners and barracudas. Captain Alan Sherman was his guide.
KEYS
Captain Kenny Harris on the charter boat Finesse out of Kings Point reports good yellowtail action in 60 to 90 feet of water, kingfish to 25 pounds along the outer reef and dolphin and wahoo to 25 pounds in 600 feet of water.
TREASURE COAST
Captain Charlie Conners of Fish Tales charters out of Port St. Lucie reports a little cooler temperatures have sparked what might be the beginning of the fall mullet migration with schools of mullet in the river.
FLORIDA BAY
Jim and Pat Sundman and John Miner all from Miami fishing along the shorelines from Ponce De Leon Bay north to the Harney River caught and released over two dozen snook and redfish plus many other species on live finger mullet and Gulp baits on a ¼-ounce Hook Up lure.
SOUTHWEST COAST
Captain Jeff Lugutki of Anglers Addiction Guiding Service out of Naples reports clear water and big schools of glass minnows and sardines, and loads of snook, mackerel, ladyfish and tarpon feeding along the Gulf beaches.
LAKE OKEECHOBEE
Lake Okeechobee water level is up to 9.61 feet. Charles Corbin out of Slim’s fishing camp in Belle Glade reports zero water and zero fish, but in Clewiston at Roland Martin Marina and Resort, Doug Smith reports that there is enough water to get out to the reef where largemouth bass are eating plastic worms. Red Sullivan of Deerfield Beach fished the C-4 canal and caught eight peacock bass up to five pounds and three snook.
