Miami Beach has several communities along the ocean, each with its own charm and uniqueness.
SOFI
Starting at the southern tip of the island of Miami Beach is the neighborhood known as “SoFi” short for “South of Fifth” meaning Fifth Street. This is the cool within the cool sub-neighborhood of the Ocean Drive and South Beach scene. Home to the most glamorous condos, fine dining, and celebrity-studded nightlife. This small area offers great small, artsy boutique shopping, and is a source of style, setting trends in art and fashion. SoFi is the most expensive part of South Beach and includes a mix of homes, duplexes, apartments, low-rise condos, mid-rise condos, and exclusive, luxury high-rises. At the end of Miami Beach is “Government Cut” where the cruise ships come and go, and just beyond, ultra-exclusive Fisher Island, accessible only by ferry.
SOBE
South Beach, also called “SoBe” includes SoFi and goes north to include Lincoln Road, the Art Deco District, and the famed pedestrian mecca, Lincoln Road Mall. South Beach’s famous Ocean Drive has a large pedestrian area, a very wide beach, and a row of original picturesque, pastel, low-rise, Art Deco hotels and condos offering restaurants and bars offering dining and nightlife, inside and outside at sidewalk tables. A people-watching mecca. Walk to area restaurants and shopping, or roller blade, or bike . . .
MILLIONAIRE’S ROW
Moving north, next comes the “Millionaire’s Row” of high-rise condos and hotels including the legendary Fontainebleau Hotel, now part of a trio of luxury hotel, condo-hotel, and condo towers.
MID-BEACH
“Mid-Beach” is an upscale and artchitecturally forward group of newer buildings offering the latest cool features and amenities.
NOBE
North Beach or “NoBe” is yet another neighborhood with much to offer for those looking for the luxury condo lifestyle. The last to gain momentum in the real estate spectaculation market, North Beach is gaining in popularity.
MIAMI BEACH
Miami Beach’s many attractions include international restaurants galore, non-stop nightlife, an arts and culture scene that continues to be on the cutting edge, and blocks and blocks of open-air shopping. Throughout Miami Beach’s coastline, there are many new luxury oceanfront condos offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic, the Intracoastal, Biscayne Bay, and the Miami skyline. All this is within minutes of Miami, and Miami International airport. There are many smaller, residential islands in between Miami and Miami Beach, and the drive across the Bay is one of Miami’s most iconic scenes representing the beautiful waterfront lifestyle. Take the picturesque drive across one of four causeways that span Biscayne Bay offering incredible views. What a commute!
